Saving Documents for sharing
If you are saving a document with the intent to share you should be aware of what type you are saving it as.
A word document can be opened and edited only on a computer with word or uploaded and converted on Google Docs. It also does not hold formatting across different computers. IE How it looks on your computer could be different than the person you share it with.
Saving as a PDF on the other hand will ensure that anyone will be able to open the document and that it will appear the same for you as it does for the receiver. The drawback to this file type is that the receiver cannot edit the document.
To choose how you are saving your file follow these general steps that should work with most applications.
1) On the top menu bar click "File."
2) Click on "Save As."
3) A window should pop up allowing you to name the file and select how you want to save it.
